Sorting through the Political Campaigns at the Makawao Fourth of July parade

I couldn’t go to the 57th Annual Makawao Rodeo on Maui because I had some massages to do but I did make it to the 47th Annual Makawao Paniolo Parade.  It was misting rain but cleared up at the end of the parade route where I was able to see all the parade except the classic cars, unfortunately, I heard they sped through the route.

There were a couple of dance troups, Aloha Cowboy Store in Makawao, boy scouts, Pa’u riders and even fire ants. All the candidates in the upcoming election were represented and took up most of the parade.  I suppose that was interesting to be able to see them in person as opposed to all the signs hanging on fences posted throughout the island.

The highlight for me was a little cowboy roping a mechanical bull being pulled by a four-wheeler.  I bet he never missed the entire parade route.  He was awesome and I’m sure he tore it up at the rodeo as well.

Oh yeah, and Uncle Sam was there too.
