Sometimes there is no one around to remind you that you are special today.
Or maybe you don’t own a “you are special today” plate.
So what to do instead?
Use some positive affirmations.
And these positive affirmations become even more powerful when you drop them into your subconscious mind when you reach a state of deep relaxation.
As soon as you reach a deep state of relaxation, let’s say:
- after a series of three deep breathes
- at the end of Shavasana
- while practicing your daily meditation
- when you need a break from the screen and you lean back and close your eyes to regroup
- while doing self hypnosis and reaching the deep state of relaxation
This state of relaxation is the most opportune time for you to repeat your chosen positive affirmation to yourself rather than when you’re rushing through a meal while scrolling away on Instagram.
If you don’t know what an affirmation is, I can tell you honestly that most likely you do. And you, like most of us, use negative affirmations on yourself regularly. Your subconscious hears this negative self-talk and follows through successfully presenting you with the negative outcome.
The trick is to switch it up and start using positive affirmations on a regular basis when you are in a very relaxed state of mind. Your subconscious hears this positive self-talk and follows through successfully presenting you with the positive outcome.
Pick an affirmation you like otherwise you will never use it.
Emile Coue was a very famous psychologist and pharmacist. He created his own style of “conscious autosuggestion” as well as helped bring about the idea of the placebo effect. He created a very popular positive affirmation which you may have heard said in a variety of ways.
“Day by Day in Every Way I’m Getting Better and Better”
“In all Ways Each and Every Day I am Getting Better and Better”
This is also a popular affirmation Tony Robbins uses in his programs as well.
Create your own positive affirmation and get started today and see what happens. Remember to be consistent. Rumor has it that it takes twenty one days to change a habit so aim for trying the positive affirmation game for at least twenty one days.
Or you can simply use ‘I Am Special Today’.
