“A goal without a date is just a dream.”-Milton H. Erickson
Did you know many famous athletes and Sports teams have used hypnosis as part of their training regime for the sport they play? It’s true. A simple google search will give you pages of results which will keep you occupied for a fews hours of reading about sports and hypnotherapy.
As I was writing this page I came upon a few fantastic hypnotherapy web-sites who list famous people, many of them athletes, who have used Hypnosis as a way to win and achieve their goals.
Were you around to witness Phil Jackson and the Chicago Bulls win six NBA championships? I was but never knew that the Bulls practiced daily self-hypnosis when he coached them. I don’t know much about when Ken Norton succeeded in defeating Muhammed Ali but am not surprised to find out that Norton used Hypnotherapy as part of his training. And Tiger Woods has been using hypnosis for sports performance and mental focus since he was a teenager.
The list is extensive and if you’d like to learn more besides googling “hypnosis for sports performance” here are a couple links to check out.:
Using Hypnotherapy for mental focus and performance enhancement in sports is far from being a new idea. It is easy, painless and drug free with the only side effect being you win at your sport. Sounds like a no brainer to me.
It’s entirely up to you how many sessions you’d like to receive from a professional. Part of the pure beauty of this work called hypnotherapy is that you are always the one in control.
You can get a few sessions from a trained hypnotherapist and then continue on your way to winning with Self-Hypnosis. It is said that Michael Jordan used self-hypnosis before every game to increase his mental stamina.
Well, I’m not going to argue with Michael Jordan and his superior sports performance are you?
